John
Kerschen, Managing Partner
John has been with Charter since 1997 and became a
principal of the firm in 2003. He has over 20 years
of financial experience in commercial banking, mergers and acquisitions, and investment banking in the Chicago and
West Michigan markets. Johns ability to combine
his significant banking/financial background with
his strong transaction-management skills has been
instrumental in Charters success over the years.

John has been responsible for over 60 successfully
completed transactions during his tenure with Charter. These transactions include diverse industries such as manufacturing of metal parts, plastics, electronics, medical devices, and more, as well as, construction services, energy services, business services, and various distribution industries. Through the formation of Charter Capital Funds, John is an investor/acquirer in growth companies seeking investment capital or an outright acquisition.
John is a past President
of the Board of Trustees of United Memorial Hospital
and a current board member of the Association for
Corporate Growth.
He also serves as a board member for three private companies in West Michigan
John has a BA from Michigan State University and an
MBA from DePaul University. He resides in Greenville, Michigan with his wife and three daughters.
